SITREP: Rebels have seized the Nigerian Liquefied Gas Plant. They have taken hostages, among them US citizens and are intent on destroying the facility. This and other rebel activities threaten both Nigerian economic stability and US security interests. The Nigerian government has felt compelled to ask for US assistance and we feel our involvement is warranted. U.S. operatives will seek to promote attitudes, which are sympathetic to assuring U.S. access to Nigeria's energy resources on reasonable terms. Requirements: 1. Find The lockout codes. 2. Secure control rooms/disarm bombs. The rebels have people in all three control rooms and threaten to damage these critical components of the plant. Seize and secure these three targets. They have placed C4 in one control room and on one connector. One of the employees that escaped overheard the rebels talking about a lockout code for each bomb. If so get that intel and disarm those two bombs. 3. Check generators for explosives. We believe that the rebels may have also placed explosives on one or more of the sunken generators on the grounds. 4. Rescue/escort hostages to EZ-1. Most of the employees who were present managed to escape early or were taken hostage and transported elsewhere. We believe that there are at least three hostages on site. Most likely in the main office building or a utility shed. They are your primary objective. Secure these hostages then escort them to the helo pad up in the elevated southeast corner of the facility. Insertion: You will insert at one of the long docks and make your way into the facility from there. Extract at EZ-1 with the hostages. Additional Instructions: Be advised there are patrols throughout the complex, both on the ground and up on the raised access walkways. Most likely a sniper or two as well. Do not carry any objects or clothing that would associate you with the United States. If compromised during the mission, the government of the United States may deny all knowledge. It is thought by taking these targets out first, it will lessen resistance. 3: Locate informant. 4: Extract informant. His debriefing is vital to finding the remaining hostages. It is vital you proceed undetected to the village marked with a blue arrow. 2: Protect villagers. Some of the villagers are armed to protect themselves. Choose your targets carefully if engaged. 3: Mark enemy boats. Pop red smoke at these targets by using a demo charge. Air Branch will then initiate an airstrike. X: Extract a rebel. Analysts wish to have a prisoner captured in hopes of gaining further intelligence about the remaining hostages. You're going to a mangrove area SW of Port Harcourt to rescue the rest of the civilians who were held hostage at Lelema. They're being detained in an old prison on a mangrove island, the second island in Isles du Salut. Requirements: Your Ghost team will infiltrate the area and accomplish the following: 1. Rescue civilians. Be careful, we believe the hostages will be killed by their guards if you are seen by them. 2. Rescue Benin soldier. There's also a Benin paratrooper who was taken captive by the rebels a few days ago, and it seems that he was put in the same prison. 3. Eliminate rebel encampment. There's a squad of heavily equiped rebel troops encamped outside the prison, on the west of the island. If you eliminate them, the rebels would lose valuable manpower and force in this area. 4. The adult male hostage is a government comptroller in charge of overseeing Nigerian oil interests. He and his family were taken hostage along with detailed maps of all oil facilities and assets nationwide. Nobody seems to own this mod and there is nobody in charge of it too. So thnx to all that have chipped in to finish it off. Blood Oil is situated in Nigeria, and is nothing more than a new mod, and some fun to play. Searching YouTube for Blood Oil can reveal some eye opening scenes. SAD's (SPECIAL ACTIVITES DIVISION of the CIA) have been called in to rescue a group of Government officials, being held hostage at a Nigerian gas plant. Several turn of events, will lead the SAD team through a variety of missions, to completing there objective. Recognise the civilians, they do carry arms sometimes, and will fire if threatened. NOTES: * Inside the main Blood Oil directory, there are 2 zip files. (bo_full.7z & bo_reduced.7z). Do not delete the files. If you are experiencing performance issues, simply right click bo_reduced.7z and extract here. This will replace all the large textures throughout blood oil to 512 x 512, also it will replace all the environment files with reduced versions.To switch back just right click the bo_full.7z and extract here, done. This should cause no issues with saved games or joining others servers. * There are no unlocked heros at present, this will hopefully be addressed in a patch after Xmas. * Not being a part of the original team, I have probably left people out of the credits, this can be fixed also if anyone sends a PM with info. * SP is set up as a 12 mission Campaign, all Campaign missions begin with BO ( C ) and are also available for Coop. * All other missions are just some fun extra stuff to compliment the maps accordingly, which begin BO ( M ) * All game modes are available for all maps. KNOWN ISSUES: * Fishing village you may notice not being able to shoot anyone when hiding around the grass stacks, I don`t think there is any contact with the map creator, you will need to be aware of this and not TK your whole team trying to throw a frag like I did. * River ride map (BO M 19) is primarily a TvT map, it is set up for all game modes, but you map experience a few issues with the AI as it has not been set up correct with working levels etc. INSTALLATION INSRTRUCTIONS: Place BO_patch_1_4_b.7z into your mods directory, right click the file and extract here.
